Feds hope to cut sepsis deaths by hitching Medicare payments to treatment stats.

Quick Blood Tests: Hospitals must perform blood tests promptly to identify markers indicating sepsis.Timely Antibiotics: Antibiotics must be administered within three hours of identifying a possible sepsis case.Other Measures: The Severe Sepsis/Septic Shock Early Management Bundle also includes additional tests and intravenous fluids to maintain safe blood pressure levels.
